The Washington Nationals and the Atlanta Braves meet Saturday in MLB action from SunTrust Park. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. In the Friday opener, the Braves secured a blowout victory. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Washington played the Phillies this week and didn’t have much luck with just one win in three games. On Friday versus the Braves, the Nats gave up eight runs in the first four innings on the way to a 12-2 loss. Starter Erick Fedde put up 3.0 innings with eight earned, eight hits and three walks.

Draft Kings Bonus Offer

Patrick Corbin will start for the Nationals on Saturday. In 17 starts so far Corbin is 4-10 with a 5.68 ERA. Over 88.2 innings he has 56 earned on 31 walks and 117 hits with 79 Ks.

Over on the Braves’ side, they took three of four games from the Cardinals in their series this week. On Friday versus the Nationals, Atlanta scored five runs in the second inning and four more in the eighth in the victory. Charlie Morton went 7.0 frames in the start with two earned on four hits and three walks.

For the starter job in the Saturday game the Braves will send out Kyle Wright. Over 16 starts so far Wright is 9-4 with a 2.91 ERA. In 96.0 innings he has 31 earned on 78 hits and 31 walks with 98 Ks.

The Nationals are 46-96 in their last 142 overall and 17-35 in their last 52 in game two of a series. Washington is 16-35 in their last 51 Saturday games.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 4-1 in their last five Saturday games and 26-8 in their last 34 overall. Atlanta is 23-9 in their last 32 in game two of a series.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on the Nationals in this one. Corbin has pitched well over his last two starts, combining for 15.0 innings, two earned, 13 hits and three walks. As for Wright, he’s got a couple of good outings under his belt as well with one earned on six hits and four walks in 11.0 total innings. I like both guys to pitch well in this one and keep things close initially. Should be a fun matchup.
