Former “Daredevil” co-stars Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are set to reprise their roles for Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Echo” series currently filming in Atlanta.
The series follows Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) who first appeared in the Disney+ series “Hawkeye”. That show also saw D’Onofrio return to the role of Kingpin he played in Netflix’s “Daredevil” series and who was something of a surrogate father to Maya.
Cox meanwhile reprized his Matt Murdock/Daredevil role briefly in last year’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” film. “Echo” will reportedly include a plotline in which Daredevil is searching out a former ally with podcast The Weekly Planet reporting that ally is Jessica Jones whom Krysten Ritter played in her own Netflix series.
“Echo” follows Maya as her life in New York as a gang leader catches up with her and she returns to her hometown to reconnect with her Native American roots. Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning and Graham Greene co-star in the series which will air next year.
